Well, I recognise Stockholm, Skansen, Vasa Museet, Copenhagen and (I think) Helsinki.

I'm not only a Swedish citizen, but have been to all of those places (and love them dearly). I will retire back to Sweden in a few more years.

This was my first time in Stockholm but I loved it. Do you have any recommendations for other places in Sweden that are worth a visit?

Gothenburg is a nice town, the south coast from Malmö towards Ystad (Wallander country), my town of Örebro, the Kingdom of Glass (Småland) for the small glass blowing places, the counties of Värmland and Dalarna, Uppsala (a lovely university town north of Stockholm with a great cathedral and other things), Visby and the island of Götland just to start. And did you get to Norway at all?

Thank you for the list! I didn't get to Norway on this trip, no, but last summer I went to Oslo and up to Jotunheimen, and really loved it. That was a lot of what prompted me to revisit Scandinavia this year and survey more of it, and now I'm thinking that next year it would be nice to maybe even rent a car, and drive around Norway and Sweden. I'd also like to see some of the region in the winter but I'm not sure what the best way to do that is, exactly...

If you really want the Nordic experience in winter, you could fly into Kiruna and get the possibility of seeing the aurora borealis, check out the Ice Hotel there and there are plenty of companies doing things like dog sledding and visits to the Sami (indigenous) peoples. You could also see what it's like to be in pretty much total darkness if you go around winter solstice. On the other hand, you could just go back to Stockholm in January!

What is that little blue thing behind the wagon? Was there a house hidden back there?

It was a gazebo!
